3 Wellington Place 

Having previously completed façade packages on no’s 5, 6 and 10 Wellington Place in Leeds, Speedclad was able to provide consistency of approach and service coupled with best value, for key client, Wates Construction.

Speedclad’s design, supply and installation contract on 3 Wellington Place combined the cladding and curtain walling packages into a total façade solution, enabling us to offer best value and practice to our client. Having established positive working relationships and a proven track record, with the client and supply chain teams, we collaborated to draw on the skills, knowledge and expertise across our business, supported by consistent operating procedures.  

 Speedclad’s contract included a natural stone rainscreen system from Alsecco, curtain walling from APA Façade Systems, external doors to ground and roof levels, louvres and the automatic circle door to the main entrance, as well as all associated items. Speedclad worked closely with Wates Construction throughout the pre-construction phases of the scheme, channelling our experience and knowledge into the design and selection of materials, including visiting the Alsecco factory in Germany to review facilities and processes and build collaborative relationships.

3 Wellington Place occupies a high profile setting at the junction of Wellington Street and Northern Street and forms the principal north-eastern gateway into Wellington Place. The 5-storey building provides 115,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, plus retail, with an emphasis on style and versatility and impressive sustainability credentials.

On the back of the successful completion of 3 Wellington Place, Speedclad has since secured the façade contracts for both 7 and 8 Wellington Place which will form the new regional hub for HM Revenue & Customs.
