Speedclad delivered the design, supply and installation of the integrated façade on this new high-profile commercial development in central Manchester.
Occupying a prominent island site in Manchester's thriving business district, 11 York Street provides over 86,000sq.ft of Grade A office space over 7 storeys, as well as retail and leisure units at ground floor and basement car and cycle parking. Architects, AHR, reflected the aesthetics of nearby historical listed buildings in the white concrete frame and vertical bronze fins and panels of 11 York Street's façade, whilst delivering a contemporary and high-specification facility that meets and sustains the needs of modern businesses.
Speedclad's contract, for Kier Construction, included the design, supply and installation of Schuco curtain walling, to a bronze and anodised finish, Speedpanel A2 Aluminium® spandrel panels tested and certified to an A2-s1,d0 classification for fire performance in an Anoloc Bronze anodised finish and louvres, including all external doors. Additionally, Speedclad provided a Pilkington Profilit U-shaped profiled glass system to the main stair core and glass balustrades to the external terraces, plus PPC composite cladding to external plant room walls. Also included in Speedclad's works were aluminium soffit cladding, sills, copings, trims, general flashings and all associated items.
