Project Award: Base, Manchester Science Park
Speedclad has been awarded the contract for design, supply and installation of the rainscreen cladding façade on a new specialist science and technology workspace in Manchester.
Base will provide 91,000 sq. ft. of high-spec specialist workspace on the Manchester Science Park, a community of over 150 science and technology businesses in the centre of the Oxford Road Corridor innovation district. Property provider, Bruntwood SciTech, and architects, Bridge Architects, have developed the £21million scheme to include office space and laboratory capability, as well as a dedicated workshop space for product prototyping and development. Base will also provide a welcome lounge, meeting rooms, break-out and event spaces and an impressive roof terrace.

Speedclad’s contract, for Caddick Construction, comprises the design, supply and install of Corium Brick Slip Cladding system secured onto an A2 mineral wool composite panel (internal and external) and incorporating areas to the roof level terraces, as well as bespoke copper profiled atrium cladding and all associated items.
