Project Award: Cambridge Research Park
Key client, Winvic Construction, has awarded Speedclad the contract for design, supply and installation of APA aluminium curtain walling, windows and doors, in excess of £600,000, on a new development at Cambridge Research Park.
Cambridge Research Park is a self-contained commercial community set in landscaped parkland comprising a number of offices, and c. 20 acres of development land, to the north of Cambridge. The Park is set to expand notably in line with owner, Rockspring's, impressive 'Masterplan' to provide flexible accommodation and facilities for R&D occupiers and "the most cost effective design and build solutions in Cambridge".
Speedclad's contract applies to the construction of three new detacted buildings that are classed as 'mid-tech' options; meeting requirements that neither a standalone office nor an industrial unit can meet. These new buildings combine office space suitable for business headquarters to the front, which can be increased from 15% to 40%, and an area to the rear that is left as a shell in order to meet the specific needs of occupiers for R&D, production and storage facilities. The total combination of office and R&D/production space that will be made available in this development covers 115,000sq ft.
